Over the years, more than thirty people have committed suicide from the top of edificio.11 The first suicide occurred even before its completion , by a worker who had been fired . The fence around the observatory terrace was completed in 1947 , after five people tried to jump into a three semanas.12 One of the most famous suicide was the young Evelyn McHale whose photo was used by Andy Warhol his work Suicide ( Fallen body ) in 1962.13 in 1979 , Adams Elvita jumped from the 86th floor , but a strong air current carried her back into the building on the 85th floor , surviving only with a hip fracture . The building was also the scene of suicides in 2004 and 2006 .
